IRES: US-India International Research, Education, Industry, and Community Project Experiences for Students

OBJECTIVES

  • Provide an intensive research experience for U.S. students working with academic partners,
  • Gain experience in working as members of an international team for both the U.S. and Indian engineering students,
  • Provide industrial research experience for the U.S. students working in Larsen and Toubro, Limited and GE’s John F. Welch Technology Center, and IIT Madras research laboratories in India
  • Provide opportunities for U.S. academics to collaborate with academic and industrial researchers in India,
  • Introduce the excitement of discovery to undergraduate students when they use the resulting instructional materials in their classrooms.
